What Is Mobile Home Retrofitting?

Mobile home retrofitting is the process of anchoring your home's frame to a concrete system embedded in the ground — providing a secure connection between the structure and the earth beneath it. This process is often required by FHA and other loan programs as a condition of mortgage approval for manufactured homes.

Our retrofit systems can be installed even when the ground beneath the home is not perfectly level. We use tie-downs and steel anchors installed to industry standards. Once the work is complete, we provide the required engineer compliance certification confirming that the installation meets all applicable standards.

FHA Compliance Standards

For a retrofit to meet FHA standards, the installation must comply with the manufacturer's installation instructions and applicable federal, state, and local building codes. The system must include adequate supports and reinforcements for the existing soil conditions and the weight loads of the mobile home.
